This informal "bring and buy" mini-market will allow you to obtain scions or to exchange well-labelled scions from your own trees.

To avoid spreading disease, please ensure that scions are completely free of canker.

A scion is a shoot of new growth about 12 inches (30cm) long. With scion, rootstock and grafting skills, you can produce your own fruit tree(s). Everything you need for grafting will be available: knives, tape, wax and a limited number of M25 and MM106 rootstocks. There will be demonstrations of grafting as reminders to those who have already learned the skill.

At this ever-popular, indoor event participants learn how to propgate fruit trees through bench grafting. After a demonstration and some theory, there is the opportunity to practise the skill. Knives are provided. Rootstocks and scions are available for a small charge, or can be purchased during Devon Scion Day, which is held at the same location that morning from 11am to 1pm.
